I trained as a counsellor/psychotherapist at Thames Valley University in London and started my counselling career in 2007 at Waltham Forest Mind - the
agency offering short-term counselling to clients from very diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In 2008 I started working for
Ealing Abbey Counselling Service in West London, and at the same time I also started seeing clients privately.
I moved to London six years ago, originally I come from Estonia, a small and beautiful Nordic country right next
to Finland. Before becoming a psychotherapist I worked in many different professions in Estonia, Russia, UK
and Scandinavia, translated books and poetry, and wrote sometimes articles and book reviews about psychotherapy,
spiritual development and mental health. I am also a masters-level qualified psychologist and have
worked for some time as a counselling psychologist in one of Estonian prisons. My other long-term interest beside psychology
and psychotherapy has been Oriental philosophy and practices - I have been practicing meditation and martial arts
since I was in my early twenties. I am fluent in both English and Estonian, and I can also speak Finnish and
Russian. My other hobbies and interests include photography and a wonderful moving meditation practice called
5Rhythms dance.
I am a full member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and a member of Society
for Existential Analysis - the organisation of existential counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. Currently
I am also a member of the SEA committee, and the organiser and main facilitator of SEA monthly existential
discussion groups.

What clients have said about Damian:
"What I found most helpful was your presence and
your patience with me … you just listened and showed
your interest and support, without trying to fix me
or to show me how clever you are."
Noel C.
"For the first time I realised that there is another human
being who wants to meet and hear that child in me. I can't
even put it into words … it just threw me off my feet."
Terry S.
"When you noticed my voice changing when I was telling you about
my boyfriend, I somehow felt heard for the first time …"
Filippa P.
